　Shoichiro Tasaki is one of the top Makie artists in Japan. He produces works in the
　traditional aesthetics but also creates unique pieces of art in his own style.　
　(He has a deep appreciation and is passionate towards lacquer, makie and his work since
　he first began.)
　Shoichiro Tasaki was born in Wajima in 1931. in 1946, at the age of 15, he apprenticed
　Iccho Ichigo. In 1959, he was for the first time accepted into the 'Japan Modern Crafts
　Artists Association Exhibition'.
　In 1996, he received the 'Order of the Purple Cordon', an honorable award from the
　government. Today he continues to make artworks enthusiastically.
